At 13-years-old, I read blogs and looked at pretty pictures
My love for reading blogs stemmed from being able to relate with the author. I love reading about their fashion, style, and learning from them. I felt like I had a friend and older sister in these bloggers. They inspired me through their creativity and positive outlook on life despite obstacles they went through. I often wondered how bloggers start out in their blogging career.
WHILE I LOVED READING BLOGS, I DID NOT EVER IMAGINE MYSELF BECOMING A BLOGGER
Besides my love for creative writing, how and where would I even begin my blogging journey? Who would be willing to mentor, guide, and teach me? I always loved the idea of blogging but didn’t think it was for me back then. Why? Because I was not on social media prior for several years and honestly, scared of what others thought of me if I were to put myself out there publicly.
I was not on social media due to my personal struggles with bullying, which you can read about here. However, I was able to mentally overcome the conflict of being on social media and not care about what others may think of me. I heard this quote, “A life lived in fear is a life half lived” and did not turn back.

AN INTRODUCTION TO THE BLOGGING LIFE
It wasn’t until I met a blogger in real life who introduced me to the basics of the blogging world which sparked my interest in becoming a blogger myself.
If it weren’t for meeting a blogger in person, I would not have stepped outside of my comfort zone and imagine that I could become a blogger. I was grateful for the introduction to WordPress through Bluehost, choosing a blog theme, building a cohesive Instagram using presets on Lightroom, and using hashtags on Instagram posts.
After the initial introduction to the necessary tools of blogging, I was left on my own to learn everything else about the blogging world. I did not know where to even begin. I first started learning about Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and how to use WordPress to write content. Shortly after the community grew on Instagram, I started to receive collaboration deals and while I had so much more to learn, I didn’t know how to turn my blog hobby into a blogging career.
AN ANSWER TO MY QUESTIONS:THE LADY BOSS BLOGGER COURSE
I believe that in order to be successful at something we want to grow in, we must research and practice. But how would we know what to research when we don’t know what it is we need to research on? There are so many aspects to blogging and so many topics to cover. Knowing myself, I work and thrive best when I have structure. The Lady Boss Blogger Course gives me structure. The modules are in written format, online, and self-paced. Each module covers a different topic and goes into great depth.
So far, I have gone through the Personal Branding and Content Planning modules which positions you on the right track toward finding your niche, scheduling out content, and creating an evergreen social media calendar. I am looking forward to learning about pitching and influencer marketing.
Please stay tuned on my next blog post. I will share more of what I learn on how to turn your passion into a blogging career.
